The most outstanding feature of the REDI die is a reduction of film thickness variation by 20% to 25%, yet the concept of this latest ADDEX invention is so simple, that it is not uncommon to hear industry experts ask themselves, "Why didn't I think of this?".

The sidefed, low profile REDI divides the Poly melt into several equal streams around the perimeter of two mirror image distribution plates. Both plates feature spiral channels,  which feed the melt toward the center pin. By offsetting the distribution plates so that the spiral feed channels of one plate match up with the spaces between channels of the other, the low melt flow patterns of one are evened out by the high melt flow patterns of the other, producing a film void of die caused thickness variation.  The coex version of the REDI die in particular, has proven itself to produce even film gauge,  resulting in considerable raw  material savings.
