The patent pending SUPERWIND is a surface winder with center assist for gap winding. Reverse winding is easy because the cutting knife is embedded in the lay-on drum allowing the web to travel over or under the drum. During the straight (no tail) cut the web is kept from lifting off the drum by an electrostatic charge.  Up to 58”/1475 mm diameter rolls of superior quality are made possible by the standard Taper Tension and Direct Torque Tension controls.  The maximum speed of the SUPERWIND is 500 fpm or 153 m/m.
